Inspect the thermocouple to determine if it is dirty or damaged in some way.
Wall mount gas heater keeps shutting off.
We have a gas wall heater and we have been having episodes typically at night where the thermostat shows the temperature is below the desired temperature and the unit ignites turns on and runs for a couple minutes and then shuts off for about 30 45 seconds then turns on again runs for a couple minutes and then turns off again.
Even if we turn the thermostat all the way up the heater will fire up and shut off irregularly.
If you re sure there is gas the pilot aperture may be blocked.
If so replace the entire valve.
It should be parallel to the pipe.
The thermocouple is usually easily visible next to the pilot light.
If it is dirty turn off the gas to allow the thermocouple to cool.
As i said this is on my blue flame wall heater.
Then there is the piece where the flame for the heat comes up.

There could a fault in the gas valve s main burner solenoid causing it to draw excessive power and starving the pilot flame solenoid.
If there is or your heater runs on natural gas check the handle on the gas line.
If your gas water heater keeps shutting off the thermocouple could be dirty bent or damaged.
This also needs to be cleaned out.
